AB - In this paper, we mainly investigate the non-linear Boussinesq-like equation  by using an efficient and simple mathematical method, which is called  functional variable method. A large number of new soliton solutions and  periodic solutions are successfully obtained. These new solutions are very  useful for elucidating corresponding physical and natural phenomena.
